We took an extremely happy Simeon to the hospital last Wednesday to have his tonsils taken out. No matter how much talking we did about it, he had no idea why he was at the hospital or what was going to happen. Grandma gave him a pre-emptive 'get well' balloon and stuffed puppy. He was going to earn those for sure.
Two hours later, two tonsils later, an adenoid later, and two ear tubes later.

When I walked into the surgery recovery room a 7 yr. old boy who had had the same exact procedures done was quietly eating Popsicle after Popsicle. Simeon on the other hand refused to eat or drink anything. He didn't care that he could have all the ice cream, Popsicles, and chocolate pudding he wanted. All he knew was that a lot of things hurt that didn't hurt when he woke up that morning. In fact Ben and I had to force feed him pudding so that he could get discharged from the hospital. That was fun!!!

Though extremely sad, when Simeon came home the next day I could tell that his little spirit was relieved to have some normalcy. He graciously accepted the best seat in the house surrounded by all his hard earned loot for a little movie watching. Minutes after being home he inhaled a yogurt and two pieces of watermelon. Good boy.

oh poor little simeon. I hope he feels better soon!!
Oh I so feel for you, Isabella had hers out at 5 years old and it was a 10 day nightmare. She wouldn't eat anything, she would not even take her pain medicine. She was so miserable it was so sad. I think it depends on the kid, some kids do great, so have a harder time. We will see how Simon does when he has his out, I have been dreading it since the doctor said it needed to be done. Good luck - he'll be back to normal soon :)
poor little guy...hope he feels better soon! he looks like a mini elias too, so cute!
so sad! waiting till 21 was not fun either, I would seriously rather have a baby than get my tonsils out again! get better soon! (both of you!)
I can't even imagine... poor darling beautiful boy (and I added the adjectives, because seriously... beautiful beautiful kids you have... can Anderson's hair please darken so he'll have bright blue eyes and dark hair just like Sim?)... I miss you by the way... like... a lot.
Good luck with the rest of recovery. Even when he's feeling yucky...he's so darn cute!
Sad. Sad. Sad! Poor Sims. How weird that both he and Rockwell had to have them out. Also, you look beautiful in that last pic (don't laugh...I mean it!)
That is the saddest thing ever. I couldn't stand it when my little one got his out, and his sister is soon to follow. It's so sad to watch them get wheeled away all giddy from the drugs they give them, only to have them handed back to you a groggy, vometing mess. Give that cutie all the popsicles and movies his heart desires!
